It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without the cranberry sauce, and I have the winner right here. This is my most asked for Thanksgiving recipe. It's easier then you think and I actually make it a couple days ahead of time so no scrambling for those cranberries the day of.
2 12oz packages of whole cranberries.
1 1/2 C sugar
2/3 C orange juice
1/4 C water
2 to 3 slices of orange rind
3 tbs Amaretto liquor

Add the cranberries to a large sauce pot.
Next mix in the sugar, orange juice, water, and orange rind.
Bring to a low boil for 3 to 4 minutes.
Add the Amaretto and simmer for 20 minutes.
The mixture will thicken. Store in an air tight container and it will keep up to a week.
