Homemade Cinnamon Rolls

This is such a fun recipe, we all love cinnamon rolls and when they are homemade it makes them so much yummier! I love to drizzle the cream cheese glaze over these when they are still warm and fresh out of the oven. My kids just gobble these up, they are honestly the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. The best part this recipe is very simple, yes it takes some time to make these, waiting for the dough to rise. But it really is a fool proof recipe. They always turn out great.

Dough: 1 tbs of dry active yeast 1 cup warm milk 2 tbs sugar 1 tsp salt 3 tbs softened butter 1 egg 3 cups flour Filing: 1/2 cup melted butter 1 cup of brown sugar 2 tbs ground cinnamon In a mixing bowl using the dough hook add milk and yeast. Then sugar, salt, butter, and egg. Slowly add the flour, mixing until the dough does not stick to the side of the bowl. Dough should be tacky. In a large buttered bowl add dough and cover for about an hour to an hour and thirty minutes. The dough will double in size. Once the dough has doubled, roll out with a rolling pin into a rectangle about 12x18. Brush on the melted butter and sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon mix over the butter. Roll up the dough length wise (the long side) tightly and cut 12 equal rolls.

Butter a 9x13 pan and add the 12 cinnamon rolls. Cover and let them rise for an hour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake 20 to 25 minutes until the rolls are a nice golden brown. For the glaze: 4oz softened cream cheese 4 tbs softened butter 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1 tbs milk Beat the cream cheese and butter until combined. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk and beat until combined. When the cinnamon rolls come out of the oven let them cool slightly. You want to glaze them when they are warm and the glaze will just melt over the cinnamon rolls.
