This cake is full of flavor, I love the taste of Amerato and putting it in a cake is heaven! Topped off with a creamy almond butter cream, it doesn't get much better. But wait, here is my secret, this cake starts off with a box. Yep you heard me right, read on for the full recipe.
1 box white cake mix
3 eggs
1 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 package instant vanilla pudding mix
2 tbs Amerato liquor
In a mixing bowl combine all of the ingredients until the batter is creamy and smooth.
Grease a round cake pan and pour in the cake batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes until the cake is cooled through.
Cool the cake on a wire rack.

For the frosting
2 sticks softened butter
4 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp almond extract
2 tbs heavy cream
Beat the butter until creamy, add the rest of the ingredients and mix until smooth. Once the cake has cooled transfer to a cake plate and frost the cake. I garnished with some sprinkles around the edge and fresh blackberries in the middle.
