Sugar cream pie is such a timeless dessert, and it's really very easy to make. The longest part is letting it cool and waiting to eat it. It's classic and simple with just a small dash of cinnamon on top. Here's how you make it.
1 Pie crust baked for 10 minutes at 400 degrees
3 cups whole milk
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup cornstarch
2 tsp vanilla extract
pinch of salt
1 and 1/2 sticks of butter

In a sauce pan combine milk, sugar, cornstarch, salt, and vanilla. Cook over medium heat whisking not stop for about 10 minutes. The mixture will thicken, at that point add the butter continue whisking while it melts in and let it cook another 2 minutes. Take it off the heat and pour into the pie shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes, cool on a wire rack about an hour and transfer to the refrigerator for several hours to completely set up. Once it is ready sprinkle with cinnamon on top and serve.
