Here is another recipe I'm pulling out of the archives from Grandma. This is a simple yet delicate coffee cake, It's ooey and gooey and so creamy. I drizzled some caramel sauce over the top of my slice that I had this morning with my coffee.
Topping
4 Tbs melted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
2 tsp cinnamon
Cake
4 oz cream cheese softened
6 tbs butter softened
2/3 cups sugar
1 1/3 cup flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup half and half
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract

First Mix the topping together, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and set aside. In the mixer cream together butter and cream cheese until smooth. In a separate bowl combine sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Once the cream cheese mixture is smooth add the flour mixture just until combined, add the egg and vanilla mix a little, last add the half and half. Mix until combined. Grease a pie pan or an 8x8 pan pour the cake mixture in. If you want a little added creaminess cut up small chunks of cream cheese and press them slightly on top of the cake mixture. Now to add the topping, spooning it on all over the cake. Bake the cake at 350 for 35 minutes. Let it cool and serve, I drizzle a little caramel sauce for extra goodness.
