This soup is one of my top 3 favorite soups of all time! I just love it, it's really tasty and easy to make. My kids and husband love this soup as well. There is never a fight put up when I serve this for dinner. I hope you enjoy this soup as much as I do.
1 lb hamburger
4 cups water
4 cups beef stock
1 15oz can tomato sauce
1 packet dry onion soup mix
1 16oz frozen mixed vegetables
1 small onion (diced)
3 stalks celery (chopped into bite size pieces)
1 tsp basil
1 tsp oregano
salt and pepper to taste
Brown and drain hamburger seasoned with salt and pepper, set aside. Combine water, beef stock, tomato sauce, dry onion soup mix, onion, celery, frozen vegetables, basil and oregano. Bring to a boil, add the browned hamburger and simmer soup for about an hour.
Tip: We love cabbage, so I add about a 1 cup of chopped cabbage to my soup and let it cook in there as well.
