Slow Cooked Spare Ribs with a Homemade Rub

We all love a great rib recipe, I've got one for you. It's low maintenance and absolutely delicious. Note in my picture I had to cut the ribs in half because they didn't fit on my serving platter. So let me walk you through this these scrumptious looking ribs.

First we need to make the rub!

1 tbs smoked paprika

1 tbs garlic powder

1 tbs onion powder

1 tbs brown sugar

2 tbs salt

1 tsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp ground black pepper

1 tsp ground white pepper

Mix all these together well. Now to coat the ribs.

Generously coat both sides of the ribs with the rub. Let it sit out to reach room temperature. Next the choice is yours, typically I cook them in either the oven or the grill (gas). They need to be cooked at 300 degrees for about 2 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 170 degrees. Once it reaches 170 degrees add the BBQ sauce, and to be quite honest these are fantastic just they way they are. But if you are going to add BBQ this is the time to do. Put a nice coat on one side let it cook a couple minutes then flip it over and BBQ the next side. Any sauce will do but I highly suggest using my homemade BBQ posted on my blog!
